Shoko 2017 – YOUTOPIA

What does utopia look like for you? Join us for the 7th edition of Zimbabwe’s biggest festival of urban culture running from the 29th of September to the 1st of October 2017. The Shoko Festival theme this year is YOUTOPIA! Because it about you, your dreams and making the impossible possible!

This year Shoko Festival celebrates you and what your utopia looks like. Amidst the daily grind that is our city what does it mean to dream, to be inspired despite the odds and to reach for an ideal tomorrow. Let Shoko Festival be your happy place where surrounded by big beats and good vibes you feel free to express yourself and experience the joy that is life! Let’s thrive together!

Shoko 2017 will continue to break new ground with new acts, cool installations, inspired talks and funky décor that make the festival so special. Shoko will move forward with its mandate to promote the dopest of urban culture and create a vibrant space where minds get engaged and bodies can’t resist moving. It’s a space for all to participate, to make your voice heard and be part of that infectious YOUTOPIA vibe!

The festival will be happening at its home bases at the Zimbabwe Museum of Human Sciences grounds on Rotten Row in the CBD for the first two days and then Chitungwiza for the last day for the popular Peace in the Hood concert. Artists that have featured at the festival in the past include crowd favourites, Jah Prayzah and Winky D, Hip Hop stars AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Khuli Chana and Junior Brown, Comedians Tol A$$ Mo, Tumi Morake, Doc Vikela and Clive Chigubu.
